    Well! This tops it all...
    How about a tampax?
So I walked over to my girls in my Pre-K class and one of them had opened a tampax that she brought inside her backpack. She was telling the other 2 that this was her Mom's favorite color; purple; thing and they have to see it.

(Warning! Don't go on if you're uncomfty with this!)

The other 2 responded..."Oh! No! I have seen my Mom with one of those and it had blood on it!" "Yeah! They stick them in their wee wee.", was the other respond. I had to confiscate the tampax and the owner cried, "It's my mom's favorite color thing, and you can't take it from me."

A C-note swiped from his mom.

Thought it was a dollar bill.

At the last Elementary school I worked for, I was working with a few students in group. During an activity one of the kiddos whipped out a condom from her backpack. She said, "Here Ms. Speechy! This is strawberry flavored!"

I pocketed it and politely explained that I was allergic to strawberries.

Oh boy. Where do they come up with this stuff?

My child almost brought our two live pet rats to school. My husband happened to see the backpack bulging at the last minute.

We do a blessing of the animals for the Feast of St. Francis. Parents who are around at that time of day can bring in their pets for a blessing. It's very cool-- we do it out on the field, the local mounted Police stop by on horseback, and there are lots of dogs and cats, with an assortment of other pets.

One year, a kid (who marched, not to a different drummer, but to a whole different band) brought in his "pet roach."

Yeah, glad I never taught him.

I was on the playground one day when an ex student rode up on his bike holding a 6 foot rat snake. He was on the way to the Skin Shop. They paid good money for snakes to make wallets. He was a very poor country boy and say $$ signs. But riding a bike holding that large of a live snake was impressive. And he had a 6 mile ride ahead of him.

A student (we don't know who) brought in an adult "toy" and dropped it in the hallway. It was still in it's packaging so it had a very colorful, descriptive picture on the front.

A raw egg in each pocket. Only figured it out after the "soap" on one pocket never would dry.

    - birth control

    - One student in my friend's 2nd grade class was talking about the cat she brought to school to play with at recess. My friend assumed it was a stuffed animal...well...she found out at recess that it wasn't stuffed. The student actually brought her cat to school in her backpack.

A live butterfly in a jar. We put it up on a shelf so we could watch it all day. At one point I noticed the butterfly was flitting all around the jar and drew the students' attention to this. One little guy pipes up, "It's because I just shook the jar". Poor butterfly.

Mine was a dildo. He proudly told me it was his auntie's toy. I had no words. My principal had no words. And apparently, the mother and auntie had no words when they came to pick it up.

    2 beers for me ......

I was having Saturday Shop (letting the kids come in and work on stuff) and sometimes a father would come a long too.
One project was the can lamp using 2 pop Cans (or Beer cans) and wooden bases, middle and top. Well one student on a Saturday brought in 2 full beer cans! He said, "I thought you'd just drink them," I poured the beer out. :(

A cast iron water turbine wheel: four feet in diameter, a foot thick. It weighs maybe 500 pounds. A couple of boys rolled it in here about 15 years ago, found it in the woods. I've been in several room since then: the janitors get a kick out of rolling it around, they say. It's sitting in the middle of the room right now; I'm looking at it. No, it doesn't serve any actual purpose, except as an icebreaker on parents' night. ("What IS that?!)

When I was in middle school, we had to bring something in to share about ourselves in science class. I don't remember if it was a collection, one of our favorite things, or just something to share with our peers. The kid who sat next to me brought in his SCAB JAR. Blech!:confused: Needless to say, I was grossed out the entire class period!

One of the teachers here just old me that the kids (boys and girls) are taking tampons, soaking them in vodka, and inserting them in various orifices - the alcohol goes right to the blood stream, but there is nothing on their breath.

AH, high school is a whole other beast sometimes.

    Mine is sad-
When I student taught, the students were supposed to bring in a Ziploc bag of 100 items. They needed to be related items and they had to write a sentence about them. One of my little girls brought in '100 things I found on the floor'. It consisted of cigarette butts, old french fries, clumps of hair, and other various things. I asked her if she meant what she found on the ground, and she said no- they were on the floor at her house. It was so sad! And to keep from hurting her feelings, I had to hang her bag in the hall with the others!

When I was growing up, my dad ran a motorcycle shop. He didn't close until 6:00 and the banks were closed, so he would empty the register and put the money bag under the seat of the van until the next morning. My 1st grade brother found it and thought it would be cool to take to school to show all his friends. There was over $2500 in it. I'm sure the principal thought my parents were dealing drugs or something to have that much money at home. That was when they decided to invest in a safe.

A dead flattened rat in a jar for show and tell. The girl cried when the teacher threw it away because of the potential diseases it could be carrying. She called it her pet even though she admitted she had found it dead outside in her driveway.
