I was offered two different positions- 5th grade self-contained at a district and a 7th/8th ELA at a Catholic school. I accepted the 5th position, primarily because I am taking a huge pay decrease either way, and the district pays for graduate schooling.

Well, I have a middle grades license with ELA and Social Studies endorsements. I assumed I could teach a 5th grade self-contained class. Nope. Wrong. Have to do an entire alternative certification program again.

When I emailed the Catholic school to let them know I was taking the other position, the AP was very nice and said to let me know if there was any change within the next couple days (this was yesterday). I emailed her, telling her the situation, but I am still nervous.

Now I will sit next to the phone waiting for her to call....

The velvet lining...I LOVED the P and AP at the Catholic school, but accepted the other position because of the extra money.

Not to be silly - but why are you waiting for her call? Did you state in the email that you wanted that position now?

I called already...AP in meeting and P out of state.

Update: The P called the school and the secretary let her know about me. The P just wanted a guarantee that I won't change my mind again! I told her to fax whatever she needed to...I am so there. Whew.

Hmmm, the Catholic school wanted me and then something didn't work out with the district position I accepted (albeit a dumb mistake on my part). Wonder who the Catholic school has on their side. LOL
