Anyone have good advice for things to include in a cover letter? I am loathing having to start writing these again!!! I have heard so many different things to include and leave out-I just want to know what has worked for you!

I am a first year teacher looking for a new job in a different area. My husband and I are trying to move to the metro area instead of the small town we are in now. I am applying to districts all over and feel like I need some direction and inspiration. I really just need help getting the first few ideas and hopefully the rest will flow magically from my fingers onto my keyboard.

Any good topic ideas for what to include? Any particular formats that have worked well for you in the past? I don't want these to look like the generic cover letters I see in resume books!

A cover letter is SHORT, and expresses interest in the position, and thanks someone for taking the time to read the cover letter and resume. Everything else is in the resume.

A long full-of-stuff cover letter will not be read.
