My teaching partner and I are planning a Constitution Day play to coincide with National Celebrate Freedom Week in September. We need to plan some simple costumes, wigs, etc. Can anyone give me some direction on this? (And by the way, I'm no seamstress!)

One word for you: Goodwill. Look up images of what you desire and then find costumes that you could either make or get someone to alter a bit to look Constitution Day-like. I have also used duct tape to make vests out of t-shirts before.

I've used peek through posters and they were ADORABLE AND EASY!!! The kids take a posterboard and cut a hole through which to stick their face (like the things you stand behind at amusement parks and stick you face through from the back). Then they decorate the posterboard with fabric for the shirt, fake hair, or they can draw it on and anything else to make it look real. They were precious and you don't have to buy anything.
