Does anyone send home a consent to photograph form? I had to have them for student teaching and my internship semesters but I don't know if that was a college requirement or if I would do that this year in my own classroom. What do you think? :help:
We have one provided by the county. Its worded horribly and parents are always confused. But yes, you should make your own form if your district doesn't use one. Simply tell the families what the pictures would be used for and simply have parents sign to give consent. It's a safeguard.
We have a county wide one too...It is more worded for media purposes, but like little317 said, the word is confusing and the parents don't understand that. Many parents are fine with photos for classroom stuff, so just clarify that with any parents who deny consent.
Even though our school sends one I also send one since I have a webpage for our class. I ask parents to sign and return the slip and check off the correct box (to be allowed to have pics posted or not).
