I've been contacted by my training center and they've asked me to write up a Computer Class curriculum. This is meant to train teachers on computer usage NOT children.

Think back to when you were training, when you first started out as a teacher...or even now. What computer skills would have been useful to you.

This can be anything from knowing how to turn on a computer to creating incident report forms, attendance form to 3 part cards.

Anything that you can think of that would have made your life easier. Even figure ground or 'odds and evens'.

I'm going to use the list you help me generate and write up lessons and activities to help new teachers.

    Thank you!

    Jenni

I would really like to know how to use Microsoft Word. I know that there is so much that I could do if I just knew how to use this program. My 12 year old DS is trying to teach me. LOL

What exactly would you use powerpoint for? what age group do you teach? Or do you think maybe using Powerpoint for Parent 'Education' nights might be a good idea?

I'm just trying to figure out what each thing would be used for :)

    Thanks!

How basic would the instructions have to be for MS Word? And how complex are we going? i.e: making calendars for sharing day, flyers for Open House, letter to parents, 3 part cards, what?

    Thanks!

PS: maybe, when I'm done I'll have to send you the curriculum I write. ;)

Powerpoint Presentations can be used for many things. I've always wanted to learn this.

Yes, please send me the curriculum! I would love to know how to make 3 part cards, format a newsletter, use clipart, etc.
