I teach reading to kids working at the 4-6 grade level.

I am wondering anyone has any good resources or time frames related to comprehension instruction. Its hard for me to gather resources and to know what order to teach strategies. We don't have a textbook. Any ideas?

I really like the book Strategies that Work by Stephanie Harvey & Anne Goudvis. The book is divided into chapters of different comprehension strategies, and each chapter has several lessons that you can use to teach them.

Thanks for the great resources so far! I really want Strategies that Work but I am trying not to buy anything this year for school unless its absolutely necessary. I may not be able to resist though!
