I went ahead and bought mine for 50 cents each. I figured I wasn't going to find them any cheaper than that this year. I also figure I'll go after school has started and hit the sales and buy them for 20-30 cents each so I'll have enough for next year as well. I can store them at school.

Has anyone tried cutting them in half? I want to do that as a name sign-in portfolio for the pre-k.

My Target last year had them on clearance for a quarter each. I bought two years worth then so that I'd have some this year to start and then can look for next year's when they go on sale.

I've never paid more than a quarter. At this point I would buy them at Walmart and watch the sales papers. If they get marked down within the next 30 days you can bring in your receipt and get the difference back.
