    Hi all,

So my school is on the path to move towards competency based learning (we're a high school), and to be honest, I'm not super informative about it. What's the deal with it? Is it truly good or is it another educational fad? Does it work better for younger kids versus older kids?

I already know I can do research on my own, but I also like knowing what other teachers think about it or know as well. Thanks everyone!

This is my gut feeling. Competency based learning in hs is doomed to failure because the student have been promoted without the necessary skills for the grade.
