Communication Theme

    I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a theme on communication. I have done this theme in the past but I am looking for some new ideas. Anything you have to offer would be very helpful!

    You could play the game "telephone":)
    That's always fun and the students like it.

    Yes, the telephone is a great idea, and well as making a telephone from paper cups/strings, great craft project for this theme as well.
    Sign language is a great communication tool. :)

    writing letters to someone. (even if they just draw a picture)

    We send valentines before valentine's day and either take them to the post office or have the mail carrier pick them up. They see them go out then get them at home.
    This is a great time to introduce sign language. Teach them a few easy signs then say something to them. They think this is great and you can emphasize communicating without talking or writing.
    We also have a collection of old telephones (minus the batteries) including an old rotary phone-THAT's a real novelty these days.
