I was directed to this site by another teacher, mostly because I've been having trouble getting the funding for Achieve3000. This looks like a suitable alternative for my struggling readers, but I'm curious to see if other teachers have used it before and what the more experienced opinions might be.
I really like using it because I feel like it has good questions that are comparable to what they see on the AIR tests. I use them sparingly throughout the year to help support other units. I really like using their nonfiction selections a lot to introduce units or help add more information to our units since so many of them are social studies based.
dgplaffeteach-Why do you use it sparingly? I love it and use it for warm-ups that we work on all week.
My concern I'm having after creating a test student account and playing a little is that it doesn't seem to adjust for individual Lexile level, only for grade;
I use CommonLit for test questions, and I use ReadWorks for leveled assignments. Both work well with Google Classroom.
I just find that works best for what we have time for. When I do Animal Farm, we read the ones about Stalin, Russian Revolution, etc... for the rest of the unit though, we're busy reading the text, doing some assignments, working on other skills, etc...
