This is my first year of teaching common core. I taught for 8 years, but that was before CC. One of the standards that has me stumped is Integration of Knowledge and Ideas. I'm having a hard time coming up with ways to grade my students in this area. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Without being a common core state, I'd assume that you'd probably assess this particular standard using either some type of research project or through integration with science and social studies.

Before trying to grade or asses them in this area, you'd first need to teach lessons to them so they can practice skills to learn how to meet the standard at grade level. There are many resources online. I found some terrific ccss lesson books for reading and writing at amazon. That's what they recalled too. They cover k-6.
