I use Cosmic Sans at lot for worksheets and letters to parents. However, I do use of fonts too. Everything is typed on the computer that I hand out.
It's just another font to me. I've used it but not on any official school related documents.
I like it. I used to use it when posting on discussion boards such as this. I think it's easy to read.
I use it and Tahoma the most.
I HATE Times Roman and I don't know why.
Hope this settles the matter.
Best to you.
It annoys me that others find the font so annoying. Not that I have some great love affair with it, but please.
I never use Times New Roman. My current favourite is Calibri.
I have expressed my hatred here before.
I can not stand it!
And my P does EVERYTHING in it. Uggh!!!!!
I really dislike Times New Roman. I like Comic Sans because it seems to be a very clean font. Honestly I use a lot of different fonts, some fun ones for worksheets, but several plain ones. They range from Arial, to Comic Sans, to Tahoma. I had to look at word to get some of those names. I tend to just go through the list and find one that looks good. Some of the names get me. I have one that is called d*** noisy kids. Seriously, that's the name. lol
LOL Ok, so I had to research and see what the whole deal was. I mean really, it's just a font on a computer. There are actual hate websites out there! Wow!
This page had some interesting information
I wonder if it had been named differently if people would hate it so much...
I heart comic sans!
I despise Times New Roman.
I also like Arial and chalkboard = )
I think its stupid to care about it that much. I like fonts where the letter a looks like it does when I write it. Do I use it on important paper work? no.
I never realized that there was anything wrong with it. I use a variety of fonts in the classroom. I try to pick fonts that are easy to read for the papers that go home for parents. I sometimes use cute fonts for the kids. I would like to know why there are so many that find this particular font so offensive.
I think a lot of the hate arose because people were using it inappropriately. Just by looking at it, it is obviously a fun, informal, child-friendly font. If you worked in a corporate office and got a serious memo on with that font, you would probably roll your eyes and laugh. On the other hand, I think the font is perfectly acceptable to use in an elementary classroom.
I always use Arial or Time New Roman because all my research papers, articles, homework, etc have to be in Times New Roman or Arial.
I hate, hate, hate it with a passion previously unknown to mankind.
But I worked as a graphic designer for a few years, and the vast majority of our clients requested it, over and over and over ad nauseum. Seriously. There are thousands of other completely awesome fonts. Live a little. Change it up.
I do, however, use it in my classroom since it's kid friendly. My heart dies a little each time I type up the week's vocab using it, but still I use it. For the sake of the children.
I use it on many of my documents because it is very child friendly.
It's interesting that everyone is saying that it's child friendly. I've heard from many that a font like Arial is MUCH easier to read for a child... and that Comic Sans is actually one of the WORST.
At the same time, I stll really love Comic Sans
just a fun quiz...decent documentary
Same here. It is the closest to Zaner-bloser that I can find. I expose them to some other fonts, but it's confusing for kindergartners.
I don't usually use it for parent letters. I like verdana, too.

I really like it. It looks like how people actually print and its fun. I can't imagine really hating a font though. Why do people hate it besides that sometimes it is used in inappropriate times. This is very interesting to me
I actually prefer Century Gothic, which would be the perfect font, except the I doesn't have the top and bottom lines.
I agree that it is rather silly to invest too much time in expressing hatred for a font.
I do use Comic Sans fairly regularly.
I love century gothic too. I use it for everything that I make in the classroom!
