For Education majors: what textbooks do your college professors have you using and for what course is it? I'm looking for the texts being used in any college eduation course: Children's Literature, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Science in the Elementary Schools, Math, Social Studies, Writing, Special Population, Gifted, etc..
You can probably go to the website of your local college (not to mention any other college!) bookstore and look up what texts are being used right now for every class there.
I wasn't too successful and thought it would be quicker and easier to do it here. But I guess I was wrong!

None of our methods classes have books - the professor just lectures. I can't remember the name of my educational psychology book, but it's by Ormrod.

About Teaching Mathematics by Marilyn Burns is an awesome book! and Sciencesaurus (you can find it on amazon) is also a great one! We used both of these books during my practicum semester. The Sciencesaurus is great for studying the science part of the Praxis II as well. (content knowledge 0014). The S.S. book we had wasn't that great and we didn't have one for reading.
We used Black Ants and Buddhists for Social Studies, and I enjoyed that. But that's an early childhood course.
