Planning on sending something like this out to all the schools - whatcha think?

    Dear Ms. W,
As the school year opens and you reevaluate your needs for the year please keep me in mind for future positions. I have been a desired sub for the last four years in the district. I have had long term sub positions at F--, P----and S--- Elementaries. (don't think that word is correct)

Attached you will find my cover letter, resume and references. I would love to have the opportunity to speak with you.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

    J

Elementary Schools is what you would want to say, not elementaries

I think I would add something about what you are doing now (continuing to work as a sub while looking for the right permanent position?) but otherwise, with the edit suggested above, I think this is a good idea.

And even if they don't have anything for you or want you, they might pass on your info to another district too! I had that happen to me once. School called saying they had received my info from such&such at another district I had applied to and was wondering if I would be willing to interview for them. It was very cool. I hadn't even interviewed at the other district, yet they liked my resume enough to pass it on to a completely different district!

I've had my resume given to other principals if the original P didn't have openings. It happens quite often. I've been on interview committees and we had an applicant that was recommended by a neighboring district''s principal.

Then don't believe me, but it happened.
And there's no way there were hundreds of resumes submitted when there's a teacher shortage here.
You don't know where I live, don't assume things
