Hi Everyone, I'm a new teacher this year and have a very interesting group of students that have challenged me behavior wise. I received a lot of support from guidance; I am so thankful they have been so helpful and supportive. I want to get two of my co-workers in the guidance office small gifts for Christmas to show my appreciation. As a new teacher, I don't have a lot of money and can only spare about $15 total (about $7 each). I'm not sure what to get them. I see them drinking coffee from home, but never from Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks. I was thinking maybe a $5 dollar GC to Starbucks and a nice card would be OK? Thoughts?
How about some notepads and pens...or basic office supplies? I think the card with a note would be wonderful!
I think the gift cards would be fine, I've sent coffee gift cards given with a not that says "Thanks a latte for all your help". I got my team foaming hand sanitizer from bath and body works and made them look like Santa suits with red/black paper and a note that said enjoy some hand Santa-tizer. It was ver inexpensive on sale and with a coupon.
I bought a beautiful (but inexpensive) tree ornament for the colleagues I am closest to. (My teaching partner will get a bottle of wine as well!)
You can't go wrong with gift cards! I've given Starbucks, Target, Jamba Juice, & See's Candies gc's in the past. A person can especially do no wrong giving me one for Target & JJ!!!
I have 2 assistants, I got them each a tumbler type cup with a lid and straw that has Christmas flip flops on it and I filled it with hot cocoa and a peppermint rock candy stir stick. I also added a small body butter in each (we go through so much lotion after washing our hands so much!!) I got the cups on sale for 1/2 off and ended up spending about $10 each.
My sis asked what to get teachers...I said not mugs...LOL!!! She ended up getting some hand santizers from Bath and body works a big one and a few small ones... I think it was like $12 she said, but she told me they LOVED them!!!
I put together gift bags with stuff I got for $1 or so from sales at CVS and Walgreens. In the past I made smalls jar of sugar scrub, baked cookies and done office supplies like pencils and board cleaner. No matter the choice you can't go wrong with a card with a nice personal message in it.
