I have my preliminary credential (from 2005) and I have been having a hard time securing a job here in Los Angeles. :( Therefore, I haven't been able to do BTSA. I have yet to clear it yet - and am seriously considering moving to a state with better teaching opportunities. My question is, would I be able to clear my credential...say in Arizona? I went to CSULB...if that's any help? Thanks in advance.

The California Commission for Teacher Credentialing has applications for extension of preliminary credentials issued after August 2004: see http://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/leaflets.html. The three-year extension application specifies that the applicant supply a plan for completing the credential requirements; in your case, it might be smart to talk to the credentialing people at CSULB and see what they can suggest, and if they're not helpful, a visit to your county office of education's credentialing people might be in order.
