Hello, The school district provided the teachers with the use of a classroom website. I think that its pretty cool and I plan on taking full advantage of it this year. Seeing as how many parents love to use the interent for updating about their children. Last year I just put my spelling list on there and a simple welcome..

I need help with creating a webpage that would be truly beneficial to my parents foremost and then my students. What areas should i include in the website. So far I have
welcome, calendar, parents place, what we are learning, syllabus, class news, student of the month,...

Oh I teach first grade....so I thought it would be cute to come up with some type of theme and get creative web art downloaded to the site. I have to wait to the beginnning of the school year to get permission from parents to use the childrens pics. But inthe mean time i can create with alot of web art

Do any of you know of a great place to start and where I can find cheap web art...I tried thistle girl...but wasn't really sure about it.

    Please help ...thanks

You can search classroom websites in the forums section b-c this has come up a lot. Also right now there is another post called Help I want a website!!! (targeted for jr high). I use SchoolWorld and my site is http://teachersites.schoolworld.com/webpages/CWeber/
    Good luck! :D

yeah but that one was more for highschool and the students, where as my site would be more for the parents. I already have a host, I just needed to know what to add on to it. But I will search the forums to see if any of them relate to my situation. Thanks

One thing I added to my website that was very helpful was a section for downloadable forms. I would put on a permission slip form, reading logs, or anything else that may be helpful to print out at home if they lose the original. Many parents used it - and it saved me time!
