Does anyone have any to share. I look and can never find any upper level classroom pictures. I'm trying to find spots for my 20 boxes of stuff and envision what I want my class to look like...I need inspiration. Please Share!!!
i'm going tomorrow to clean and start mentally planning...i'm going to attempt to move some filing cabinets and book cases...the old teacher had her filing cabinet in the middle of the room...not sure why...but i'm gonna post pictures by next week!!
Same with me, I'll have some by next wednesday. I have some pics with the kids sitting in class, but they don't show the room very well and I'm not allowed to post the kids pics. I need to do a before and after picture, might make me feel like I've accomplished something next week.
I will be going in to my class in about two weeks and i would love to see pictures of other classrooms so i can get an idea....
Great request! I'd love to see some other pics as well. I'll be going in next week to start setting everything up. I have a million ideas of what I *could* do .... now I just have to figure out what exactly I'm going to do!
here are 2 pics from my room...it was from my first year (last year) and there is a lot I am going to change about it. I teach 6th grade at a middle school, these show only half the room.
I have some pictures from when I first saw my room - before any cleaning or rearranging was done. There are also a few from when I started working on my room. It's still a total work in progress but at least you can get an idea of what my room looks like. I hope to go back in sometime this week or next week so I will take some more updated photos. My room probably won't be completely done until school starts though. I've had to start from scratch so it's taking me awhile. If you have any suggestions, let me know! I'd love some fresh ideas! http://community.webshots.com/user/mrsagould
Wow, your room is huge. I am soooo jealous of all those pull out drawers, shelves with tubs, and your board space.
I am very fortunate!! My first classroom was the oldest of old. I had one chalkboard and it had a HUGE crack in it. Everything was so dusty and looked permanently dirty. I'm so thankful to be in this new district in one of the newest rooms. I'm almost afraid of my room looking bare because I have so much storage! And I totally need to add color.
Here's the link from last year with some classroom photos on it. http://forums.atozteacherstuff.com/showthread.php?t=21468&highlight=pictures
Wow, that is a dramatic wall, MrsB2B. Just beautiful. Did you paint it yourself? Is the color a deep rose as it looks on the screen?
Mrs. Gould...can you tell me how you are organizing everything? What are the white boxes labelled with numbers going to be used for? I saw they had folders in them. Just curious because I have no idea where to start!
The wall was painted last year....it's not quite as dark, but it is a pretty shade of red. I didn't realize how much of an impact that wall has until i saw my pictures! Thanks everyone!!
MrsB2B - LOVE your room!! Especially that red wall and the blinds! That shade is my favorite. I wish I could put more color into my room like that. Question.. where did you get the book border that you have above your bulletin board on the red wall? I'd like to get something like that. Looks great!! Lovetoteachkids - I'm giving every student a number so that is why I have them listed on the file boxes. In the boxes will hold their writing folder and writing notebook, plus reading workshop folder and reader's response notebook. The numbers are to make it easier when they turn things in and I have to put them in order. Also, it'll be nice to call numbers when I want them to get their things.
Hey Mrs. Gould- Thanks for the comment on my room. I got the border from a local teacher store. I think it's a Carson Dellosa product. Some of the other rooms on my hall have different color blinds (blue, purple, green). I love the extra bit of color! Thanks!
Here is my classroom here are some pictures of my classroom that i took today. this is my first year teaching so i dont have to many decorations up yet.... im still working on that. LOL http://community.webshots.com/album/560394900TqNqjk
WOW! All of your rooms are so bright and creative....I'm so jealous. I walked into my room for the first time today and it is BARE! As a first year teacher I'm worried I won't have enough stuff (or money) to make it look like a fun place to learn. I guess I'll have to keep adding new things throughout the year. What is a good website for fun posters (science, math and motivational) and other school and decorating supplies?
I took some pictures today...and put them in Flickr so I could share...but since I am a new member it doesn't seem I can paste a link...any suggestions... My room is 95% done...I have two more posters I need to hang.
I love the pics of rooms that have have posted!! THX for sharing Hey TXTCHR, where did you get the library due date card slots? I've looked all over (the teacher store, EBay, $1 store...). :help:
From our Librarian....since we went to a computerized checkout system, we don't use the cards anymore so she gave me a ton of them.
Thanks! The colorful ones are for my Word Study (spelling- Word Matters by Fountas and Pinnell)(I have an A.M. and P.M. class, because we departmentalize) The students write the spelling principle for the week as well as their spelling words for the week on an index card. The students then do Buddy Spelling and have different activities to do througout the week. Each student has a different spelling list based on their spelling needs. The manila pockets are for checking out books from my classroom library. Students write the title of the book on the card, when they are finished reading the book, they return it, cross it off and write the title of the new book they are checking out.
