When does school start for you? I have orientation on the 24th and 25th, then teachers start after that. The students start on the 5th.
I got a private message from someone saying that my photos were too big and it wouldn't load. I made one of those Kodak slideshows, so hopefully this will help some of you that weren't able to view them on my classroom website. http://www.kodakgallery.com/ShareLa...post_signin=Slideshow.jsp?mode=fromshare&Ux=0 Hope this works!
On top of your file cabinet where you have your pencils (dull and sharp) there is a binder that saids the book. What do you use that for?
Gopher4--- I love the pics of your classroom! The windows make everything so bright and cheerful. I love the plants and beanbag chairs also. I'm sure the kids are excited to go to your class.
OK ok....I got my room up and running! If you look back on like page 3 you can see my room last year vs. this year!!! CLICK here for the kodak picture viewer! School starts Wednesday!!
THE BOOK This is my discipline book. I have discipline posters on the large filing cabinet where each child has a magnet with their name on it. Everytime they break a rule, they move their name down to a certain consequence. The 2nd time they move their name, they sign the book recording what rule they broke and what they did. They fill out a plan that basically says the same thing. Teacher, student and parent have to sign the plan. I always give 1 verbal warning before the moving of names begins.
I searched at reallygoodstuff.com and couldn't find the timeline. If it is online, could you post a link to it, please? :thanks:
I ordered it online, but I know that Staples carries it in their stores because I saw it there. It's down the aisle with all the other storage/desk items. At the Staples I went to, it was on the very bottom row.
WITeach, here's the link at Really Good Stuff... http://www.reallygoodstuff.com/detail.asp?itemno=154454&wt.svl=sr_154454
njeledteach....school starts on the 7th, we have inservice on the 5th and 6th (one of those will be an open house I think). I only have next Thursday, Friday and the following week. My house is so packed with stuff, I can't move anything!
One question, I've been looking everywhere for the large currency that you have on your morning meeting board. Where did you find them? I would like to use them to count the days of the school year using the money going from coins to dollars etc.
AWESOME Pictures!! everyone. You all have inspired me! Now I really really have the itch to start digging out my stuff and putting it up even if its just in my basement, since I don't have my own classroom.... yet!! Katenar, I really love your room and the organization. This must have taken you tons of time to do!!! How long does it take you all to put a room together that looks soooo great? Do you have family help? (mine only grunts when I ask/hint that I need them.) Where did you get all of this fantastic center stuff?? ::sigh:: I hope that I will get my own room soon and can do as well as you all. Thanks for the inspiration all!! Munchkin
I was wracking my brain about this.... There's a movie called Pass it on or something like it. That might give you some ideas.
Everyone has such beautiful rooms!! Thank you all so much for sharing. Looking at these pictures are getting me excited to get into my own classroom for the very first time, on the 21st!
If i give you my email address could you send me the template of what you have in the book and the note you send home for the parents!! ? thank you carrie
It is so fun to look at everyone's classrooms. I want to share my pictures, but I don't know how to attach them. Right now I have them stored in my Kodak Easy Share. Can anyone help?
akbeck98 I noticed that you posted your pictures using Kodak Easy Share also. How do I attach my pictures using this software? I have them in an album, but I don't know how to get them on to my post. Thanks!!
Okay, I think I did it. Here are the pictures of my classroom. This is my second year teaching and I am still trying to collect stuff slowly, even though it seems like I keep spending so much money. http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=qc68wqb.qh61tf7&x=1&y=tfalp1
akbeck98 one more question... I posted the album, but it won't let me view the pictures. It is giving me an error message of the phone number does not match the email account??? Do you know what this is?
Hmm...I can't view yours unless I sign in. Normally I can view with out signing in! When I did sign in I can view 10 Pictures! Your classroom looks great! Really nice job! Maybe you will have to do the forgot password and reset it? I'm not sure? I can see them though!
I really like your room! Do you have your genre & your other things typed on your language arts board to where you could email me a copy? Let me know & will pm you my email address. I was planning on making them soon, but that would really help if I could get them instead
I printed the LA Focus Wall material off of the Santa Bonita District website. http://www.smbsd.org/page.cfm?p=908 If you scroll down to posters, charts, misc. you will find them there.
Teach2Inspire - Great Name and Great Room! Your room seems very engaging, your students will love it!
Teach2inspire, I am not able to view your scrapbook. I do not have a password or things like that to view them and usually when other people have posted their pictures, I didn't have to enter one. I hope that you can make your pictures more accessible for all to see! Good luck with teaching again.
I just looked at the Focus Wall BBs at Teach2inspire's link and I love it! This covers all bases for students, teachers, and administrators! It's like having your lesson plans on the wall to reference when needed! The kids can never say they don't know what we are learning. The parents will be able to see what we are doing as well!!!! I already planned my Focus walls for both my 6th and 7th reading/language arts blocks!! This is a wonderful BB because it is a tool for teachers and students to use to stay on focus during daily lessons! All of the categories and information I needed for planning mine are in my Literature Textbooks Unit At a Glance section. It breaks down the Comprehension Skills , Strategy Focus, Structural Analysis, Vocabulary Focus, Vocabulary Words, Genre Focus, etc... This is going to make an awesome BB and my principal is going to love to be able to walk in our class and see what we are doing by looking at the BB!!! Student work can be displayed near the board along with any rubrics!!! This made my day! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
Ann2006 and Love2Teach - Your welcome, I am glad that I could share this information with you. Our district required that every classroom had a LA Focus Walls last year, and this year one for Math as well. I think I finally figured out how to post my pictures so that everyone can see them. http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=qc68wqb.qh61tf7&x=0&y=epnate
Great room Teach2inspire!!!! Your link worked and I absolutely love the focus wall idea. It seems like your children will be on track and organized when it comes to their learning. Good luck this year.
Okay let's see if this works! I posted my pictures from last year way at the beginning of this thread. Here are pictures of my new room, new grade level, the day before schools started! (plus one from earlier) You should be able to click on them to make them bigger.
