Alright, I spend another day in my room today and I feeling MUCH better about it. I was getting stressed because I thought it was looking awful. Now, it is finally coming together- a little bit. My BBs are still not decorated-but at least have paper and border on them.
(Sidenote: I found out today that I am getting new blinds :haha::haha:)

    For kicks, lets compare:
Day 1 (note: my room was painted last month)

I wish I had taken photos from the beginning.

I think there's been a huge difference in my own room before yesterday and today, though. I'll take some tomorrow and then do the amazing Tuesday/Thursday transformation. :woot:

I REALLY like your room, and it seems like you are off to an outstanding start.

I love your room! You brightened it up a lot! :) Nice job.

I see you painted that bookcase green...are you allowed to paint that stuff? Or did they do it? I've never had my own classroom...so there are some things I don't know yet!

It is my AR board. The whole school does an AR theme every year and we are "Clued into reading" this year. I am going to do a mastery club/dectective thing, but I did not want to use the same border twice. It is going on the purple and silver board.

Oh and as for the detective stuff: I have the border, the BB set, the sticky name tags, the paper, the name tags, stickers,....
All from the $1 Scholastic sale (except for the BB set)! Gotta love Scholastic!!!!!

Beautiful job! I love the transformation. Looks like real classroom now!

I am packing my camera in my purse right now so I can share the changes as I move into a new classroom.

I didn't ask, I just did! It was ancient... But, at my school we can paint pretty much whatever we want as long as we supply the paint. My room was painted by the district so it was painted stark white... But as for the bookshelf, I just bought a $5 gallon of mistint from Lowes!

    Thanks to everyone!
Even after I got most of the posters up on day 2, I was stressing out because it still looked white and bare. Things did not look like they did in my head. But, now that I put up a few more posters and got the stuff on the BBs, I am feeling much better about it!

Oh, and my friend (who is seen in a couple pictures) thought I was crazy for taking pictures! How can I NOT? It makes me feel better to look and see what I have accomplished!

It's looking good! I love your doors and tall windows. Do you work in an older school? Looks like it should have hardwoods. We have several schools like that in our district and they have so much character!

None of the classrooms in my district look like that...and there are over 35 elementary schools. I guess it just depends on what part of the country you're in, as to how the design/style of buildings are. I wish our schools had some more character, instead of these modern contemporary looks.

Circa 1922! No hardwoods and I am not sure why. I don't know if they are under the carpet (doubtful), have been tornup :)() or never existed. My elementary building (as a student) was very old and had stone floors on the 1st floor and hardwood floors upstairs. I love wood floors
