Would like to see pictures of classrooms for the new school year, I enjoyed looking and getting ideas from here last year.
Ya'll have such great rooms. I am embrassed to send mine. I have a room that is over 50 years old. Its bright and colorful because of the posters and bulletin boards but the rest is hopeless. Your rooms look great!
I just love looking at your classrooms, it gives me ideas... We don't start till the beginning of Sept so I have some time yet to refix and reorganize. ITeach4HIm where did you get all the Horton wall hangings? They are so colorful and cute.
You can check out my thread "My turn - Class Photos" for more detail, but I made them by blowing them up on an overhead and drawing them on white butcher paper and then painting them. It was a lot of work this summer, but I've moved to a new grade level/room and wanted lots of color! My grade level all decorated with this and we just used scenes from the book.
specialpreskoo....are those bears on your white board? If so, is it possible to get a closer view of them in the picture? What is their purpose/what do they say? YOur rooms are very wonderful, I love the kitchen area!
Yes, those are bears, color bears. They wear whatever color and have items of that color in their hands or beside them. Then have the color word above them but I'm missing the word "blue". I acquired those when I got the class from the previous teacher. That was in '98.
My school just ordered those bears for our preschool last year. So, I know you can still get them but I don't know where they came from. I hung mine up this year but, since we need to have most things kid created I am going to have my kids make color posters to put up beside them. I love the tree!! I made a hive for the reading center with tulle coming down from the ceiling and decided to put a tree along the wall to look like the hive was in the tree. A tree like that would be perfect!
iteach4him Your room is so great..do you stencil the words on the wall or are they painted on butcher paper and cut out also.. thanks Rose
Iteach4Him-I love your room! I have the same question as the others. Are those wall hangings cutouts or did you create them?
ITeach4Him, I love the tree! How did you attach the tree limbs to the ceiling? Did you braid the trunk to make it look like that? I want to make a tree for my reading area.
For my artwork: I just copied pages from the book Horton Hears a Who onto a transparency and used the overhead projector to blow them up on white butcher paper. I then painted the drawings with tempera paint and cut them out. I stuck the art to the walls using blue tak (sp?). The tree is braided brown butcher paper and I stapled it to the wall (strategically ) and the branches are stuck to the ceiling tiles with straight pins.
