has anyone tried using a blog for their classroom/s? something geared towards parents with assignments, posts, news, etc.

how do you think that might work out?

I saw an "enhanced version" on their site - were you using that or the free version?

I am not sure I would blog. With all the trouble people are getting in now a days with them. Your school doesn't use first class?

Jane how do you get the link at the bottom of you posts? I'l like to put my blog on there and can't figure out how.

I am considering using a blog as a communication board to my parents, I will also use my web page.

Learnspring...I was using the free version. It also has a feature where you can make online flash cards and those can turn out to be handy.

    JaimeMarie,
Maybe Im getting confused...but our school used a program called First Class (aka Interact) last year in Vegas. All it was was basically a combo of an online posting system for staff and admins and a email client...parents didnt have access. Do you use the same program and if so, do you have some sort of capability that parents can check a page for class updates?

I agree - people do seem to be getting in trouble. But if its solely focused on delivering information (news, assignments, etc.) to parents. I don't think it would be a problem.

My sister is in hs and I remember they had a page set up for parents and students to go online to check their homework assignments for each teacher. I was going to post a link but it doesn't bring you to the page I am on.

We use Edline to post information.

I don't see where using a blog for the purpose of just posting information would be a problem.

Is Edlines something that your entire school has to sign up for? Or can you sign up just as a teacher?
