Hello I have a room with no carpet and a loud A/c unit. What are a few ways to reduce noise in my classroom. My classroom is cleaned daily and I do not want to buy a large area rug if I can help it.

Any suggestions? I know I should probably add items to the wall but I am not sure what best absorbs the noise.

Hi, and congrats on your position - the starting line is drawing near, isn't it? Have you reached out to any of the teachers who have taught in the building before? They may say that it isn't so bad if the air conditioner is off for part of the day as it gets somewhat cooler. Or you just might have to bite the bullet and get an area rug. Look to your new colleagues for some guidance. They will appreciate the vote of confidence, and it is a great ice-breaker. Wishing you the best in your new job!
