I teach first and I happened to meet the mayor of our city recently. He agreed to come to visit our first grade classrooom and be a guest reader and I would also love for him to answer some questions about his job and duties. The problem is I don't know what book I should have him read to our class. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Usually I tell the person to bring in a favorite book of theirs or their children. Or you could try La Rue for Mayor....
I checked Book Wizard and found... Amelia Bedelia 4 Mayor and several other books at 1st grade level about mayors. Just put mayor in the quick search. http://bookwizard.scholastic.com/tbw/homePage.do
Very cool that you were able to meet him and that he agreed to come in and read. I would go with Amerlia Bedelia. It is simple, funny and the kids will love it.
