Does anyone have any good circle time songs or dances? I just need a few fun little songs or chants that are easy to sing and fun for them to move around too. I can't seem to find some good ones that they are entertained by.

Do you do songs that lead into your circle ,,,,like
"good good morning how are "
    or leading into story time
    " its Story time"
ive got lots of songs that go with themes too.
"opposities" "sound" "Magnets" " amphibians" "Solar system in Motion"
If you would like the words to any of the songs let me know and i can email them to you.

Dr. Jean is amazing for kdg. She has a website where you can order her CD's and the words come with them. She will be well worth the investment.

The one I was taught is sung to the tune of "Farmer in the Dell".

The earth goes 'round the sun.
The earth goes 'round the sun.
The earth goes 'round the su-u-un
    and Tommy is one.

The child walks around a paper sun on the floor while he carries a globe. He walks around the sun once for each year he has been alive. The song is sung each time he goes around but the age changes each time (one, two, three, etc.)

I've also seen a teacher light candles while singing the song. As the children sang one, she would light the first candle, and talk a bit about what happened in that child's first year. Then the children would sing again and when they sang "two" the teacher would light a second candle then talk about what happened in the second year, etc.

There are links on the web that contain teaching songs, morning meeting songs, etc. My site, www.dlarose.com has a page titled "Articles" click on that and you will find 3 good song links. Good luck!
