    Hi all!
I teach third grade and I'll be piloting chromebooks and google classroom with my class. My school currently uses tablet computers and we are NOT 1:1.
I want to use google classroom for turning in assignments my students typically do weekly: reading checks, current events. I'm also excited to see how google docs enhances our writing process!

How do you use this technology in your classroom?

I am 1:1 Chrimebooks, and I love it! I also love Google Classroom. There are so many things you can do. One of my favorite things is Google Forms---it will grade for you. If you have weekly reading checks, simply enter them as a quiz form and it will grade and give you simple data charts.

There is an add-on called WriQ that you can add to Google Docs. When you score student writing, this program will color code and highlight punctuation, spelling, and grammar errors. It also analyzes vocabulary use.

I've recently had my kids add Screencastify so they can video themselves. I've used this to have them explain various concepts and then upload their videos to Google Classroom.

There are a million things you can do. Enjoy!

I would like more info on the WriQ. I might try it.

WriQ sounds cool. I'll have to look into it.

I am a big fan of google class room too! The setup is a bit challenging for someone like me - but it's definitely a very useful tool. Amazon is coming out with a competitor too, I hear. Let's see what happens!

My district is 1:1 iPad for K-8 and 1:1 mac books for 9-12.
There are definitely great things about it, but I ALL of our curriculum is on the iPads and I feel like they spend too much time on them. There is something to be said for pencil and paper, which I've been trying to use more and more.

My 2nd grade classroom is 1:1 iPads. We started using Google Classroom for math this year and it works out great. It helps to eliminate paper and you can provide a variety of activities to meet various learning styles. It is easy to assign and check activities and students can work at their own pace.

Search for it in the Chrome store then follow the steps to add. Once it's added, open any Google Doc, go to the add-on tab, and it should be there.
