I'm looking for some fun ideas to put in my writing work station for Christmas. One thing that I already do is have my students make Christmas cards for family and friends. I need something else for them to do.

One of my options is to make a wish list.

Write directions to decorate the Christmas tree, wrap presents or make cookies. Write a description of their Christmas tree. Put out a supply of Christmas cards and they can choose one to write a description of.

Great ideas. I have students who do not celebrate christmas. How could I do this so all students can participate?

Van... could you have them write a letter to someone (they may or may not have someone) in a "warm" state if you have snow telling them what they like to do in the winter.

Have the students pretend to be a reindeer that wants to work for Santa. Have them write a letter to Santa asking for a job.

    name the reindeer
Why would you be a good sleigh puller?
What else could you do for Santa (make toys, cook, clean)?
    What would you work for?

Add a glitter nose that's not red.
My _______ ______ nose would be useful when it's ______ and _________ outside.
(My shiny, blue nose would be useful when it' s foggy and snowing outside.)
