I am just a bit stumped for an original ide for our Christmas program. We're just part of the school program. Most classes are doing just a readers' theater or a song or two. I guess I am just not feeling too creative....
Anyone have a cute idea that has gone over well?
    :thanks:

What is your theme...Religious Christmas? Santa Christmas?

Not religious. Can be Santa, but could be just winter/snow, etc., too.

(This kinda relates to a post I did just now about Christmas gifts...) Why not think about getting silver bells (Dollar Tree, etc. 6 for $1) and adding your students' name/date to them. Then, you could do a chorale reading or reader's theater using a scene or two from a story such as The Polar Express. The bells could jingle at appropriate times, and even inappropriate times would be okay! That was such a popular movie, most have seen it...it could be as simple or as complicated as you like, with kids in pj's, a background sound of a train... But it would be DIFFERENT! And the kids would LOVE taking home their props. Sometimes I think I'll just scream if I hear one more rendition of Rudolph!! :-D

I also like to do the following themes during Christmas/January (Winter):

    *Gingerbread Boy
    *Mr. & Mrs. Snowman; Snowflakes
    *Bears/Hibernation

Our main focus is the Nativity/Birth of Christ.

    Enjoy and have fun!

We suggested the Polar Express as a reader's theater, but that idea was nixed.
    Any other suggestions?
    Anyone?:help:

Last year, my third grade class sang and danced to Feliz Navidad and dressed the kids up in ethnic costumes. It was really neat. But I don't know if they'll let you do it being that they are wishing a "Merry Christmas." I teach at a Catholic school so I have that flexibility.

We are doing The Gingerbread Man as a skit for the second time and singing a couple of songs afterwards.
