Christmas break!

7 1/2 days from tomorrow.

 

I played hooky today to get through to break. 9 more days.

 

Looks like I win so far! Only 6 days for me!

 

Doing a half day today.

Just decided to take the whole day.

 

I'm going to try to get my flu shot on Sunday if I can find a walk-in so I can take Monday off due to "flu shot side effects". My aides can run the class so I don't feel guilty taking off. I also have 31 sick days so...

 

We have tomorrow ( which I have jury duty, thank goodness) then 3 1/2 days next week. And if I get picked for Jury maybe I won't have to come back until next year!!!! I have never been so excited for jury duty in my life!!!

 

Wow.

Now that's not something you hear every day. Lmao

 

Eh, I'm at 6 1/2. *sigh*

 

Not counting today, I'm at 6.5 as well. So. So. Close.

Plus a lot of students have already told me they'll be out this week since they are traveling before break officially begins. So hopefully things will be calm and quiet this week

Finishing all gift and grocery shopping Monday. Won't have to leave the house the rest of the break! The excitement is overwhelming!

 

Whereas my district has recently announced that masks will be optional after winter break.

 

Well isn't that lovely.

Speaking of which, we had recent outbreak and those kids are quarantining.

Just one more day to go....Friday is always my hardest day schedule wise, as I don't get a prep period and I have a later lunch that day. But knowing it's the last day of school for two weeks will keep me going

Got 1 1/2 days to go. We're having a "fun" day tomorrow, so it won't really be work.

 

Our last day is Tuesday. Uggggggggggggg.

Went out for a great meal and now for video games, sports, movies and more food!

 

So what is everyone doing? I've been eating and sleeping late. Absolute heaven.

 

I’ve gone to tea, gone shopping, and gone to dinner with friends. Most of them are teachers, so I had to wait j til they finished for breakfast. I also went on a date with my DH. We always eat at the same restaurant in our first date anniversary. We also went to the movies.

I still feel more like I’m on vacation instead of retired. It’s going to take a bit to get used to the idea.

 

Sleeping in is the best part of being on a break imo.
Mostly, though, I've been running errands, organizing, cleaning...not so fun, but it feels good to get it taken care of. Hopefully the bulk of it will be done by tomorrow night. Then I can fully relax.

 

That's why I started my cleaning and washing last week.......no chores on the break! Lol
