We have 8 days until break. My DH and I have the same break this year. We work in different districts.
8 and a half! But in those 8 and a half days we have a field trip...and a winter performance...and a big project. They will be 8 and a half rough days.
We have full weeks this week and next, although the last Friday before break is a teacher work day. This year seems so much harder because Thanksgiving was early this year. Typically we only 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas break and this year it's 4 full weeks!
We have to have grades done this Friday. The next few days are just preparation for the yearly school-wide Christmas program. We are finished Wed the 19th. That day the whole school plans to celebrate with an "Ugly Christmas Sweater" day.
Our last day is Wednesday the 19th. We dismiss at noon. I'm taking that day off, though, because we're going on a cruise to Cozumel. First day I've missed in two years.
9 school days left (counting today), but I am taking the last day before break off to head to my family's house for Christmas. Since I am a title teacher, we really don't see many kids that day anyway with parties and everything else going on.
We have 6 1/2 days left. I am ready for break! The last day is a "fun day", so we won't have classes.
I miss having a school where we are allowed to be festive and have celebrations. Our school is like a prison, sadly. No decorations, no celebrations, no parties, no bringing in treats for the kids, no talking about what we're going to do over the holiday break, and absolutely no Christmas movies. We must focus solely on instruction. Students are expected to be learning and working hard on the last day before Christmas break, but it's so hard because the kids are off the walls.
That’s brutal. My school is completely opposite and we have been encouraged to do fun stuff all this week.
I only have a 3-day workweek this week and my Christmas Break officially starts on Dec 20th! And everyday is a minimum day in light of finals. Boom! <drops mike>
I feel so sorry for you because that sucks! 3-half days for me this week and so I can leave school by noon! Woot woot!
Starting my cleaning and washing Thursday so once I get out Friday I have nothing left to do but some Xmas dessert! Oh yea, 3 1/2 days!
Thursday 3pm can't come soon enough! We have a staff potluck on Thursday so that will be fun! I'm making a dessert
My husband and I are going to see a movie on Thursday after work. Friday will be all about wrapping presents, doing laundry, and cleaning! And Hallmark Christmas movies...
We have a full school day through Friday, but I took Friday off (as a Title/Resource teacher I don't see many students on party days anyway). Friday we have my husband's annual meeting for work in the morning (his company does profit sharing, so they find out their "bonus" at the meeting) and then dropping the new puppy off at the shelter for boarding and heading to my parent's house for the last Christmas at their house (they sold their house of the past 20 years and will be moving up by us in early January).
My vacation actually started early. I have interviews in my new town today and tomorrow, so yesterday ended up being my last day.
2...half...days...left... And they better hurry otherwise I will not be able to keep my mouth shut when that obnoxious parent gets stupid one more time.
Let ‘em have it, haha! 1 day left for me! I’m so excited!!! And my students got me a ton of Christmas gifts, one of which is a generous gift certificate to my local movie theatre. Naturally, I’m having a movie marathon after I get off work today at no cost to me! What a great way to start my break.
