I'm no fanatic, but it's good sometimes & lately I've been hooked on those Ghiradelli milk chocolate & caramel squares! Mmm!
I love chocolate but I rarely eat it on its own. However, I'll always choose chocolate when it comes to other sweets like cake, pudding, donuts, etc. It just goes so well when mixed with other things. My favorite combo is chocolate raspberry, closely followed by mint chocolate. Mmm.
I had a friend buy me some high end dark chocolate from somewhere near the Berkeley, CA, area. It is 80% cacao, used very little sugar, uses the highest % fat cream, and is pure heaven. You have to have a palette for chocolate this dark. I can't get enough of it. Once I'm finished with the stash she sent me, I'm simply going to have to get more. This dark stuff has made me really dislike milk chocolate. And Chocolatier Blue makes See's look like kid's candy.
Ranchwife... I feel the same way about dark chocolate and milk chocolate. We do have some Vday candy that is milk, but I don't eat much of it.
I'm not a huge chocolate fan. I like it well enough, but it's not something that I crave or buy/eat on a regular basis. DH bought me some Lindor truffles for my Christmas stocking. When we go to our favorite vacation spot, we always pick up some chocolates from the candy store that DH loves. I love their dark chocolate covered caramels sprinkled with sea salt.
I love DARK chocolate, but I'm not a big fan of milk chocolate. It's okay but I like the richness and fullness of dark. My favorite dark chocolate brand is Trader Joe's!
I actually like all chocolate...I'm not picky about the brand. I never buy expensive brands because I really don't have the money, so I like cheaper candy like Hershey's.
I think Hershey's and other cheap brands tastes like wax. Which is sad since I live 10 minutes from Hershey, and in the town where M&Ms are made.
The secret to Hershey's kisses is to let them melt in your mouth rather than chewing them. It takes them from wax to delicious.
I like white chocolate too. One of my favorite cookies used to be white choc macadamias. I couldn't resist! On the way home from work today, I bought a 50 pc milk choc & caramel squares pack from the Ghiradelli store.
BF brought me back a box of Neuhaus chocolates from Belgium. I ate them very, very slowly... the dark chocolate/coffee combo was out of this world. But aside from the occasional gift, I rarely eat chocolates. We still have a box of Godiva chocolates his mom brought back from Europe last... October? November?
The best chocolate I have ever had was in Germany. I cannot even remember the name, but nothing I have had since comes close. It was truly the most decadent thing I have ever eaten. (other than my German friend's mother who made a heavenly torte!)
My husband just got back from Argentina on a business trip and I liked their chocolate he brought back. They have these cookies that are called Alfajores that are chocolatey! I also like See's candies about once a year...very tasty but don't need to gain weight =) Overall I like European chocolates like from Belgium or See's candies! yum!
I'm not really into sweets, I only crave them sometimes. so whatever chocolate I do get is ok not picky
Palmer chocolates is the one brand I won't buy. They are very cheap and doesn't even taste like chocolate. Someone mentioned chocolate with raspberries and that is probably my favorite combination. Godiva and Ghiardelli have really good ones.
I've never heards of See's either. The only time I notice Palmers is at Easter. They do Easter bunnies. Wonder if they do Santas?
I love chocolate, especially the dark stuff! I'm too cheap to splurge on the good stuff, though, which is probably a good thing for my waistline!
They have a lot of Christmas candy so i'm sure the have some kind of Santas. It is just nasty candy! I made the mistake of buying a bag for my class one year because it was cheap. I had a piece left over so I ate it and *gag*.
