I would like to incorporate a non-textbook into my plant unit. Does anyone know of a book that would be good to use? This is for third grade by the way.

I don't know about a kids book, but on Billy Jonas' kids cd entitled, "What kind of cat are you" (that whole cd is so fantastic for kids...most of the songs are so engaging...I love it!)

Anyway, he sings a song called "watermelon" and it's about photosynthesis...lots of fun! It's on Itunes. One weird thing is the introduction to the song is actually on the track before it...so if you want the introduction which mentions photosynthesis, you'd have to buy the track "Pharoh, Pharoh" too. But, if you don't already have it, buy the whole CD! He has clips on Youtube. He uses recyled materials to do all his percussion...he's very funny and talented!
