    Hi everyone!
One of my student's parents asked me to write a letter for her child verifying his readiness to enter kindergarten. She is applying to a few schools and needs this verification from the teacher. What do I need to include in the letter? Other than my signature, how can I verify that I am the teacher?

    Thanks!

I would include name recognition, letter and number recognition. Can the child write his/her name. Very important is the child emotionlly ready for kindergarten. Able to focus for extended lengths of time, follow simple directions, etc... As for verification I would use a letterhead from your school. I teach in a private kindergarten and in the past recommended children for early enrollment in first and I always put my letter on our school letterhead. Hope this helps.

Wow, they ask for verification? Just out of curiousity, does she have some type of special circumstance, or is it district policy, or...?

The private schools in our area ask for verification as well!
