Check out my new avatar. I am now a first grade teacher!!! My Denny's interview panned out and he offered my the job on the spot. Of course I have to be ok'ed by the school board but that is just a small formality.
WHOA! So much exciting news tonight!!! I'm so lost when people change avatars. It's how I remember previous threads.
We are going to relocate as soon as possible. My new principal will be gone the last two weeks in July but said he would leave my keys with his wife. She is a teacher too. She did teach on my new campus but since he was hired to be principal she has to move. SHe is moving to teach science at the 4-5 campus. He is having two days at the beginning of Aug for some PD and then Aug 12 is new teacher stuff and then Aug 17 teachers come back and the Aug 25 schools starts. When I taught kinder I started on my room July 15 and was just barely ready when school started in Aug. This time might be a little different because they have everything laid out for you to teach on their curriculm maps. It's great! Anyway I am super excited. I couldn't sleep at all last night. All these thoughts!!!
Congrats! I remember how excited I was last year....I remember not sleeping, too, because I had so much to think about!! Good luck with the move!
WOW! What general area are you moving to? I gather it is a small town or is it bigger than you are in now? Soooooooo happy for you! Doesn't it feel good to have a J-O-B????????
Wow, an interview at Denny's. That seems really nice and you could probably bond more with the person that way. Congrats on your job!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After thinking about the interview all day I am thinking that he all ready knew he was going to hire me. He only asked a few teacher questions and the rest of the time was telling me about the school and what kind of principal he is. I think it will be a refresing change to what I had peviously. Myold principal was never in our classroom. She had a closed door policy and was very snobby. He seems very open and easy to talk to. He knows what he wants but he know hot to get it in a productive way. He is former military but you wouldn't know it. Very soft spoken and ohhhh sooooo polite. He kept calling me ma'am until after I accepted the job. Then he called me by my first name. I think I am really going to love working for him.
Congrats and first grade is so much fun. So will it be easy for your dh to make the move with you or does he have to stay behind until he finds another job?
He owns his own business so he can go anywhere. Plus he is a govt contractor and could be called overseas at anytime. Also my new principal said he could probably get a job working for the school district as manager of the maintenance department. So he has several options we can work with.
