I need to delve into character development - how an author makes a character seem real or believable - memorable characters.

Every time I Google (TM), I get sites on developing character (as a trait in yourself), not sites on character development (an author's development of memorable characters).

Any tips on finding sites OR any lesson ideas?

Also, once I've done my mini-lesson, what're some good independent activities?

    Here's three I found - the rap one isn't really a lesson but a really cool :)

I googled Character development lesson plans and then english lesson plans for character development

    http://www.educationalrap.com/song/characters-setting-plot.html

    http://www.readwritethink.org/class...ng-characters-across-book-409.html?tab=1#tabs

this one was for younger grades but looks like it would still work out for jr high

    Hope this helps :)
