Either Rules by Cynthia Lord (most likely) or Extra Credit by Andrew Clements. First may be a short book I wrote quite some time ago, though, called The Frightening, Dark, and Shaky First Day of Fourth Grade. I haven't read that book on the first day since my third year, and now I am in my eighth year!

I think I will read Ramona and her Father, since that book is about her 2nd grade year.

Even though I wish I could get away with reading The Hunger Games, I am probably going to go with Among the Hidden.

Why do you read that book? Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing? I haven't read it. Do you start on the very first day?

Well, I won't be reading Junie B., since I'll be teaching 3rd grade! Now I have to find something new! Any suggestions?

I always start with it in fourth grade because it's an easy read, so even the lower readers in class won't struggle with it. It's also hilarious and very easy for the kids to relate to. It's about a boy named Peter, and all the trouble his little brother Fudge gets into. It's a fun read aloud.

I went to the library with three books in mind (pretty popular, but not flying off the shelves popular). They had none!

I will start with one of Phyllis Reynolds Naylor's series, but not Shiloh.

I usually start with The Cat Pack Series (4 books), but sometimes with The Boys Start the War series.
