My kids really enjoy reading chapter books but I can only take so much Junie B. Jones. Any other book suggestions that will keep then engaged?

I read the ready freddy series to my kids, but they are first graders. He is a first grader. Have you thought about Flat Stanley?

My kids (kinders) loved both the Ready Freddy series and Flat Stanley. I have also read Freckle Juice by Judy Blume (I think???) There are also a series of Little House on the Prairie chapter books geared towards younger children that I have read and the children enjoyed.

Magic Tree House books? Are those too old? I teach pre K so there is no way for chapter books.

Definitely Magic Tree House. I personally don't care for Ready Freddy. Too much rude kid language in it for me to want to read it aloud.
