I have been at my current school for 12 yrs which is my whole teaching career. I have taught first for six years and 2nd for six years. My husband and I are moving this summer to a different county I would like to get a job in that county. I just feel it's time for a change. Just nervous about starting over in a new county. Anyone else in the same boat?

Moving and proximity are always great reasons for a job search.

Suzanne Capek Tingley, a veteran educator has been in your boat, and knows other teacher's who've made career adjustments along the way. Google her article: "Changing Careers: What I learned by Going Down a New Teaching Path." This story can help you, perhaps, stay in teaching but do something different with it. And good luck wherever you land!

That's an exciting change for you to look forward to! In my 40+ years of teaching, the longest I have stayed at any one school was 6 years. We transferred with my husband's job quite a bit and I always enjoyed finding a new school home.
