I need some leaves by the end of next week. Is that okay...?

I only need like one or two from your region/country sent in a small envelope. Our chapter right now in science focuses on plants, different types of roots, different types of seeds, and leaves.

I guess e-mail me, and I can provide the school address to where you can send them. Having leaves from different areas can make the classification activity my students will complete a little more exciting.

Sure...send me your school address. I am in PA, so you will certainly get some different leaves.

Thanks! Three people so far. :woot:

In California, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, so we're definitely getting some variety. I REALLY appreciate this.

Let me know where to send the leaves, and I'll get them in the mail real quick. Then you'd have a sample from the Mid-West as well.

We have some in CT that are already turning color. I'd be glad to send you some. Any specific types you are looking for?

I'll try to send some from Washington (I even have a whole area of our school planted with native species) but I can't guarantee anything! I am starting school on Wednesday and already WAY behind and will be in school probably all day Monday and Tuesday.

No rush! If you get started and it's a month late, I can still show the leaves to my students. I understand stress level 100%... :)

I'll send you some from North Central Kansas. Our leaves haven't started turning the beautiful colors of fall yet.

Do you laminate the leaves fresh off the tree or do you dry them before laminating them?

It's still too soon for leaves to be changing color here as well, not for another month or so.

Do you want us to tell you what kinds of trees they are from, or will the children be researching this?

You can tell me (label them or attach a little note), and then my students will be figuring things out additionally.

Do they need to be changing colors, Ms.Jasztal? It's way to early in the season for that here. If that is not a requirement, I'll go cut my contributions as soon as I can wade through my yard, lol!

A Locus Leaf and a locus seed pod
    Chinese Ehm leaf
    Mulberry Tree leaf
Hedgeapple Leaf. Hedgeapple wood is very hard.

I wanted to send a cottonwood leaf, but the trees we have on our farm are very tall. The Cottonwood Tree is our Kansas state tree.
