I want to show a few movie clips from Mean Girls, CLueless, and Breakfast Club. How can I do that? I thought of putting the lesson on ppt and adding the clips but I can't figure it out. I don't want to insert/eject each movie. I've seen presentations with movie clips in them so I know it can be done. Just not sure how. HELP!

Do you already have digital clips of the parts you want to insert or do you just have the DVDs?

If you don't already have the clips, you need a tool like #1 DVD Ripper to make the clips from the DVD. Then you just insert the clips in the PowerPoint document.

Thanks! I found a free one, called handbreak. I was able to copy one chapter from a movie. The chapter is 8 minutes long. I only want to show about 3 min. I'll look into #1dvd ripper because I'd rather just be a ble to cut the parts I want to show.

Once you have the 8 minute clip you should be able to run that through Windows Movie Maker (free on an XP or Vista system) to cut it to whatever length you want.

However, having never used handbreak I'm honestly not sure what file format it creates to WMM might not support it. I do all my edits with DVDShrink and Adobe Premier.

BTW, once you have that in Powerpoint simply go to Insert > Movie From File.
