I am wanting to do a Dad's day camping themed activity in April. I have a few activities, and I am looking for 1-2 crafty activities. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance, Nicole
I made a really cute campfire using the kids handprints as the flames. it was on a starry night bulletin board during our summer camp. I cut out "logs" out of brown paper and then had the kids paint handprints all over a big piece of paper in red, yellow and orange (it was ok if the colors got mixed! just try to keep the handprints separtate so you can cut them out) The handprints became the flames. It was really cute!
You could use the book A Camping Spree with Mr. Magee http://www.amazon.com/Camping-Spree-Mr-Magee/dp/0811836037 and then make milk cartoon tents, paper bag backpacks, paint with sticks, or rocks.... Food: s'mores, trail mix, There are a bunch of ideas here; http://atozteacherstuff.com/Themes/Camping/index.shtml
The camp out theme is one of my fav. Here is a link to some ideas that I have done over the years. Camp Out Theme http://kidsworldexploration.com/id76.html
