Well I have 2 1/2 more weeks of maternity leave and I am trying to enjoy every second! My little girl will be 9 weeks old tomorrow and she is such a blessing! She is a much happier baby than her older sister ever was. We are still working on sleep but right now she only wakes up once at night to eat -- I can live with that! When I go back to work my husband will be staying home with her until summer. Actually when my older daughter was a baby, he stayed home with her for the whole school year! He is an amazing dad and is so excited to be able to bond with this one as well. How are all of the other babies doing? There must be some new ones born by now, or at least getting close!!
My baby is here! Ava JoAnne was born via repeat csection on 3/30/14 at 940am...the day before my birthday! She weighed 6lbs 4oz and is 20 inches long. I'm insanely exhausted and still in pain at times but overall we are doing well. My 3 yo loves her and kisses her like crazy. And I'm feeling very lucky that dh is off for 3 weeks with us bc this is so much harder with a toddler and a newborn than it was with just Nick
Congrats leighbball! I'm 35 weeks now. Everything has been going really well with the pregnancy. I've had some tough things going on in my personal life, but I'm trying to focus on the baby. I just had my baby shower on Saturday and then spent a ton of money at Babies R Us buying the rest of the things I needed (we were able to stack coupons and get 55% off!!!). It's a little weird for me to not be working now, but I've already had 4 interviews for next school year. I hope I find something soon!
Congrats Leigh! I agree it is much harder with #2! My husband was originally going to only take one week of vacation time to stay home with me, but that quickly got changed to 2 weeks once we got the baby home
Is it normal to have your stomach be almost completely hard for a long time? Mine has been really hard pretty consistently since Friday night or Saturday morning, especially when standing up. It doesn't hurt. It's like a Braxton hicks contraction, but it doesn't seem to go away. I'm 37 weeks and have an appointment tomorrow.
I'm Pregnant My name is Heather and I am a vpk teacher that works with four and five years old. Yesterday May 4th, I took a pregnancy test and found out. I took 2 more to make sure. I am so excited. I have had really bad cramps like my period is about to start. Is this normal, I have my first doctor visit on May 22nd.
HeatherTeacher, I had cramps for the first little bit, too. They went away soon enough. I was told that as long as the cramping isn't extreme or accompanied by bleeding, it's fine. I had my first ultrasound today. Super cool. Little Bean was moving like crazy, but calmed down enough for them to get the measurements they needed. And, they printed out a picture by accident, so we got to take that home, even though we didn't pay for it.
I'm going to be induced on Thursday! I went to my 39 week appointment today and my blood pressure was much higher than usual. It usually is high at the beginning of my appointment and low at the end. But it was still high at the end, so they sent me to labor and delivery to get monitored. At labor and delivery my blood pressure was pretty low and got down to 99/45. They gave me the option of coming back for an appointment on Thursday or Friday and inducing if my blood pressure was high, scheduling to be induced on Thursday, or getting induced next week. I decided to just get induced on Thursday (for a few different reasons). I haven't really thought about the delivery at all, because I've been so worried about the baby. Now I'm starting to get anxious!
Congrats Heather and Shanoo! Good luck Far! I was wondering how you were doing I had high bp at the end with Nicholas.
Good luck! (If they're giving you Pitocin, you might want to think about getting an epidural. That stuff hurts...a lot.)
My girls are here! It is exhausting but we are in love with them It was a crazy hospital experience but its over and they could leave after 24 hours. During two day old babies two hours home is quite an experience
