Call me crazy but...

I missed thunderstorms. I'm sure Alice will agree that we get pretty bad storms here only during the summer.

One's brewing up right now: the sky is getting dark and the rumbles of thunder are getting more and more frequent. I don't know what it is about them, but I love them. Maybe I'm just crazy .

I miss thunderstorms, too. I miss weather in general. Where I live now (desert Southwest), it's all sun, sun, sun, hot, hot, hot. Sometimes it gets overcast and looks like rain but it never does. I would love a good storm.

It passed by here, taking a good hour to do so. It was GREAT!!!! I'm a total storm geek, and I loved it.

My 81 year old mom didn't love it... she was anxious to get on the road and back home.

Here we have:
thunderstorms
strong thunderstorms
severe thunderstorms

I LOVE the first two categories, but, severe indicates tornado potential and that always FREAKS me out.

DH was driving home from Melville on the LIE...he pulled off on an exit and waited one storm out in a gas station...he said there was A LOT of water and tree branches down.he started home again and stopped again for another passing storm...we had some thunder a while ago, but no rain yet. Just got a Weather Channel alert on my iPad that we're under severe thunderstorm alert.

After the tornadoes that went through our area in early March, we had almost no storms this spring. Makes me nervous about the rest of the summer...

Looking forward to the Monsoon season that will hopefully be coming up in the next few weeks. Love good storms, hate what they do to the pool.

GRUMBLE. All the rain from the storm you're getting now went to the north of us because it's so dry, no moisture is hitting the ground. On the bright side, we haven't had to mow in about a month.

cat-we got NOTHING in the northeast. My poor flowers are so thirsty for rain, not well water!
I miss thunderstorms. We haven't had one in a long time!

We could get some vicious ones in DE since it is so flat, and I did not like them. But here they are fairly mild and I kind of enjoy them. I am sitting in the middle of one now.

I thought it was great (despite we are celebrating last day of school and there were 40 of us here and a bunch in the pool! Good thing I have a big kitchen)...cooled everything off!

I love a good garden-variety thunderstorm. We get some really scary ones sometimes, and I don't like those. The regular rain/thunder ones are nice.

We really need rain. My grass is dry and crispy. My garden looks terrible. There were dark clouds and one rumble of thunder when I was in the pool earlier, but we just got a few drops of rain.

Took DH four hours to get home...one hour of it on Cross Bronx...we moved cars back in the driveway...there's a precarious branch that looked iffy...it's now barely hanging...it needs to come own...just not on the car!

Weird. In my part of the city we had rain last night/early this morning. Seems to be only raining once a week or so. We had a brief, strong storm on Tuesday. I'm not a fan of storms in general. Maybe I need a people-sized Thundershirt.

I loved watching the storms we'd get when I lived in PA. In AZ, all we get are monsoons and they don't compare. I miss the seasons, too.

How long Have you lived here? Maybe you just haven't been in a gully washer we have here, when we do have a good monsoon it floods! It is funny (weird) that people can't wait for water to go down it will take about 40 min for the washes to drain but they will go and try to drive through the flooded washes it is so bad that we have created a Arizona traffic code Title 28-910, commonly referred to as the "Stupid Motorist Law."

It's about to storm for the 2nd time today. So excited.

It stormed really bad here this morning: pounding rain, LOUD thunder, lighting strikes every few seconds. Loved it.

I was at the 2 mile marker of the summer run series when it came down in BUCKETS! not a dry spot on my body as I crossed the finish line 10 mins later.

We need rain SOOOO bad. We had a pretty severe wind storm over the weekend. Not quite tornado, but some very strong straight line winds. We are missing tin off our outbuilding, and siding off our house. The odd thing is they are on opposite ends. It was really swirling.
