We have some of the business card magnets at school and I'd like to create a magnet for each student to use to make their daily 5 choices each day. 2 years ago I ordered some from vistaprint, but they came with a decorative background already. The ones we have at school have the adhesive. What would be best to stick to it? I need something that will last a year. I'm not sure that regular or scrapbook paper would hold up.

Any ideas or has anyone done something similar?

I have used laminated construction paper stuck to magnetic tape for graphing. I never had a problem with it coming off, but I don't know if the magnetic tape uses the same type of adhesive as the business cards. I wonder if you could stick white contact paper to them then you would have two sticky surfaces stuck together.

Cardstock sticks to them just fine. Also, you can cut the magnets into smaller pieces. A 4x1cm rectangle can hold up a large index card.

I put on regular construction paper then set those paper-side down on really good/strong packing tape (high quality). I cut around the magnet and use a wet erase marker to put their name on. I can change them at the end of the year.

Yes! I cut my business card magnets in half length-wise so I have long skinny magnets. They work well for names.

You would be surprised how little the magnets need to be to hold something to a white board.
