I have recently left my job due to burnout. It got to the point where I physically had to force myself to enter a classroom. I was stressed and miserable all the time and spent every spare moment thinking about leaving. There were many factors involved, but much of it came down to sheer exhaustion. As everyone would know, it's impossible to teach properly when you just don't have the energy to stay on top of a class. I haven't given up on the teacing profession altogether, I just think I need a long break from it. I was wondering if there are other teachers who have stepped away from teaching for a couple of years and come back with a fresh perspective? Or should I just start looking for a new career now?
