I am happy for you to have other options! I hope you get the type of job you want. Being open to other states really increases your chances of getting to a better place.
I'm going to start working on my Texas administrator license. I'm, looking into reciprocity now. I turned down a few offers earlier this year because the pay wasn't suitable for me.
Many of the teachers at my school have that attitude right now. People have days saved from last year when we were virtual, and now they're using them. It's now in our weekly admin email who's taking which days and who's covering for whom when. We've hired a building sub and are shuffling staff like mad to cover. We have an extra hard time getting subs because we're a language immersion school.
We can't get subs because of disrespectful students, violence and low pay. Come to think of it, we can't find enough teachers for the same reasons!!!!!!!
Someone on Facebook shared a video of a student hitting and throwing things at a sub. Then the student called her mother to tell her that she wasn't going to listen to the sub for various reasons. No wonder subs and teachers don't want to work.
I’ve been having stress dreams about my job the last two nights. Not about students like usual, but about bizarre situations in which I feel trapped by dream characters played by admin. I’m working on an application for a corporate learning designer job and I’m not sure how to feel about it all right now.
Feel good about it. Applying doesn't mean getting an offer. Getting an offer doesn't mean accepting. Feeling good about it improves your chances of choice.
Thanks. Intellectually I know that, but my brain is very black-and-white most of the time so by the time I start applying for new jobs, I’m emotionally and mentally done or very close to done with my current job. So it’s hard to remember that I can apply and not get an interview, or interview and not get an offer, or get an offer and not accept. My husband reached out to the recruiter for this job since he works at the company in a different group and she told him I should apply, so have a feeling I’m at least more qualified than I feel without talking myself into it lol.
It does sound like a tough situation. Because you do have some networking going for you, are you pressuring yourself to prepare a better application for the job than you would otherwise?
