I just ordered this hairstyling tool. I'm sure I'll like it. Anyone have it? https://www.bumpits.com/Default.aspx?mid=537220
Nope. We are a little slow in Maine. They will probably be in style in about another five years or so.
The kids have been wearing these around here for a while now. Practice with it. If not it will look really silly.
How interesting. Volume is a constant struggle with me. It doesn't help that DH has no qualms telling me my hair looks stringy. The strategies I've used in the past have been busts, though. I even got clip-in extensions, but they look totally fake and horrible, and I've never worn then. Def. report back when they come in and tell us how it works. I can't see this looking natural if your hair is just down, unless you have SUPER thick hair. My hair is thin, and I would think you could see the comb under the hair. Maybe if my hair was tied back, and held securely over the comb, it might work. Hmmm...
I checked out the site...the Hollywood Bumpit is just too extreme. I don't want to look like I'm hiding a football in my hair. The others, though, are very tasteful and create pretty effects.
There's a teacher at my site who wears one of these. It looks very cute on her. She usually wears it with a regular headband.
They got decent reviews online. It looks like you would really have to spray it though. If the hair moves, you would see it through the hairs, and it would look weird.
I listen to Channel 93.3 in the mornings. They had beauty busters on one morning testing these bumpits out and the interns who tried them say they do not work. They all said they could tease their hair to do what these bumpits do. Especially since they were worried people might be able to see them in their hair or they would fall out. Who knows. I'm not big on having the huge bump on top of my head.
Where I live, it's a stylish hairstyle to have. I like the look & I have the right hair type to do this, so I'll give it a whirl & report back!
The name, I read the title and to me it said Bum-Pits not Bump-its :lol::lol::haha::lol::lol::lol:
It looks interesting and I have the right hair type for it...however I'm a mess when it comes to styling my own hair. My mom's a hairdresser and growing up she styled my hair for me every morning...now I just use a straightener. I don't know if I could make it look right. I might order it and have my Mom do it for me
Ms. I.-- Did you ever get yours? I see the informercials all the time now. How is it working out for you?
This is the second time this thread has come up...and I SWEAR the second time i have gone.... Bum-pits? And imagined some alley filled with passed out folks. (Reminds me of that movie "That thing you Do" when the guy wanted to name his band the Oneders (pronounced "Wonders")...but everyone would see the name and pronounce it the "ohNEEders". ) I agree...in marketing, someone should have suggested a hyphen.
I saw a nurse in my doc's office the other day with one of the Hollywood bump-its. It looked horrible! She did NOT have enough hair for it, even though her hair was long, and from the side and back it just looked ridiculous. The front was ok...
Can you believe I'm STILL waiting for them to come in the mail?! It says tks 2-6 wks & although the 6 wks hasn't quite come yet, I should call to see what's going on. I know at times company's sell way more than they expect & everything's becomes on back order. Minutes later... I decided to call right now. They said they shipped it 4 days ago & it tks 7-10 days for me to get it. (sigh) Don't worry! I'll report how I like it.
