    Hi everyone,

I have this fabric which is red & white checkered. It looks like a picnic table cloth. It also has little black ants printed on it. Anyhow what I've done with it is have the kids write/draw what they did over the summer on paper plates & then hung them up on the bulletin board.

I am wondering if there's any other good/clever ideas to go along w/the fabric. I like using the paper plates. I was thinking of just having them put their names on them & draw things they like. This bulletin board is outside my door.

If you have any clever ideas I'd love to hear them! :)

You could attach pipe cleaners to the plates, and make them ants. The could write what they think the year will be like and you could title it-- "Ant"icipating a great year!

I stink at this! Where is Jem??

Haha, I think Go 4th had a great idea. That is really cute. :)

Also a very clever idea for a bulletin board, bina1357!

I did something similiar to this. However, I made black ants for the border. I took several small styrofoam balls and cut them in half. I then painted them black and used pipe cleaners for the legs and antennas. Each ant requires 3 half styrofoam balls. I then put eyes on each ant. They turned out so cute.
You can also get a small basket, with a flat back (easier to hang), and hang some of the material out to make it look like a napkin. Then add some fake fruit to the basket.

Many teachers at my school do this and their tagline is "CAN'T wait to get started!"

It would be sute it you took thier pictures and cute out thier little heads. Use the heads on ants bodies, next to thier plates, or copy a persons body to glue thier heads to.

I did this bulletin board before, and titled it "Welcome to our Colony" and had the kids decorate their own ants on the first day of school....I loved it!
