Someone mentioned we should start a bulletin board picture thread until we can start posting our classroom pictures.

Here are a couple of bulletin boards I did in the beginning of the year to welcome my class.

Each one of the bananas has a student name on it.

This other one you can't see the whole bulletin board but you'll get the idea. It's the one on the right that says "Picture This". Throughout the school year I would put up pictures of my class. They loved stopping and looking at it and the parents enjoyed it too.

This was my Welcome Pirate a couple of years ago.

Okay you are too creative... I will have to get the pictures from my other computer... but they aren't as creative as yours... :)

Here are the only ones I have on my laptop.

    Sorry if they are big.

This has a picture of a little "bulletin board" with gold stars with their names... "We're a gold star class" is a Dr Jean cheer we did all the time! To the right is my student work board. I stapled the black paper and attached a paper clip. So when I put work up there I just slide it in and don't have to worry about staples! Love it!

Here is a door display we made for Young Author's Week. We did "How the Butterbees Came to Be." I adore that book!!

I have some cute ones from kinder. I'll have to find a photo site so I can link it to here.

Yours are too cute Kate! I'm jealous at your creativity.

That is one thing that I vowed to do this year is to take pictures of all my BB's. I got so many compliments on my boards this year (and that means alot because I'm not creative), and I'm so upset that I didn't take pics. Won't make that mistake this year!:D

Each bag has the students' names. After the kids read a book, they get a short response form from the "doggie bag" and fill it out for their book. They then put completed response forms in the lunch bags. When another kid is looking for a book, they can look at the response forms in a peer's bag to help them make a decision. This way they can get book recommendations from their friends without a lot of talking in the class library.

    Does this make sense?

I like my bb's to be the kids' work- not mine. My beginning of the year bb is usually thematic- I've done 'teams' as a theme for the past two years. I did a home plate cut out which the kids decorated with words and pictures of the things that are importnat about them, they also made a 'game plan'- list of goals for themselves for the year. I hung up with a picture of child in sports equipment (baseball hat, bat, glove, etc...) and banner: We are a TEAM- Together Everyone Achieves More. Sorry no pic.

The "Stay fit, Have fun" was for one of my classes and it could be used at any grade level. It was posted in a Resource room, so kids from K-6 were exposed to it.

"Get Your Paws on a Dog-gone Good Book" was one I made up for the class I student taught in. It was 3rd grade, but I'm thinking about using it next year in 5th.

    Miss Amy,
Oh my goodness! I LOVE your BB pictures too!!! I really like your Help Wanted BB. I will have to copy that, if you don't mind. This will be my first year in 5th (after teaching kinder) and I worry so that I will make my walls look too babyish, so seeing other 5th grade BBs is very helpful. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

I love seeing all of these fantastic bulletin boards! :D

I'm a first year teacher, but I'll post a bulletin board that I created last year while student-teaching in 1st grade.

It was in response to reading the book, Mr. Peabody's Apples.
I stapled on real feathers, which the kids LOVED!

we don't have bulliten boards :( I have one in my room but it has to be PYP and so I can get a little creative but the 6 themes are the same each year! I am not sure if I would have time to do a bulliten board :) They all look so beautiful!

    MissAmy-How cute.
My theme this year is "On the Road to Success" or something like that. I am planning on using OK and Rt. 66 as part of my theme. I want to gather postcards that show OK attractions along Rt. 66. FYI- this year is Oklahoma's centennial:D .

Where did you get the license plate templates? They would go great with my theme.:thanks:
